Detail
`The Ministry of Communications issues two kinds of postage stamps a year on issues that call for public cooperation and awareness. That time, the theme ``Let`s Save Our Water`` is one directly related to our everyday life. Water is vital to the survival of all life forms, just as air is, Demands for water are rapidly increasing along with industrialization, growths in population and improvemants in our living standards, On the other hand, water pollution is getting worse with each day. Excessive use of man-made detergents and indiscriminate release of wastewater are spoiling our lakes and rivers, While oil spills caused by frequent oil tanker accidents are jeopardizing our oceans, which are regarded to be mankind`s last treasure house. Today man faces a serious ``water crisis`` and special efforts to restore it should be made. The amount of water used each month reches its peak in July. The Ministry of Communications issues this postage stamp this month, in hopes that the public will realize how precious water is and that efforts will be exerted to restore life to our dying water which is vital to our survival.`
