Detail
`The Ministry of Communications is issuing this year a series of postage stamps featuring Korean-made automobiles. The aim of this decision is, on the one hand, to congratulate our auto industry on its rapid growth and, on the other, to diversify the design of our postage stamps to suit the taste of philatelists at home and abroad. The series will be issued in five installments, featuring small-sized, medium-sized, large-sized and specially-equipped automobiles, in that order. The following two are the third of the series :
1. Highway Bus
This 47-passenger highway bus, made by Asia Motors Co., is equpped with a newly developed 310 hp engine which is designated to minimize gas consumption, noise ans exhaustion.
Special research in human engineering carried out for the design of the seats and interior of the bus has resulted in sparing the driver the usual fatigue that comes from driving over a long distance, and in providing the passengers with a high degree of comfortaleness and snugness. It also looks beatiful and elegant.
2. Truck
This 2.5-ton Super Titan, made by Kia Industrial Co., is a new type of truck designed to meet almost any road condition. It is equipped with an 85 hp diesel engine which yields excellent loading capacity and outstanding cost-effectiveness. Even at top speed, it gives an extreme degree of automotive safety and maneuverability. The driver`s seat is as comfortable as that of a passenger car.`
