Detail
`This is the 100th year that the Anglican Church of Korea has been engaged in its mission.
The Christian religion spread out in about A.D. 170 from the Continent to England, where after undergoing the Reformation, different from that in the Continent, it was reestablished as the Anglican Church, which then spread out to other parts of the world.
The Anglican Church, Catholic in faith and order, but incorporating many principles of the protestant Reformation, has characteristic features of its respect for the aboriginal culture and customs of each different region, autonomy in each church, and parliamentarianism of management.
The Anglican Church of Korea has three parishes-the parishe of Seoul, Taijon and Pusan-in which there are more than a hundred churches. Since the very beginning, the Church has not only worked toward making itself native to Korea, but also been vigorously engaged in investing in education, performing charities, and planning, in particular, to spread its mission to North Korea.
The Ministry of Communications issues this postage stamp in order to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Anglican Church of Korea.`
