`Rose of Sharon has become Korea`s national flower naturally through the long existence in the korena peninsula and is now in full blossom with the mounmental accomplishments of `88 Seoul Olympics and with the powerful jump toward the developed country. These wonderful works make us look back with full emotion to the past when our ancestor freely rode across the vast land of Manchuria. Moreover, these give us the excitement of seeing the Mugunghwa in full blossom. According to Go Kum Ju and San Hae Kyung , an ancient chinese literature, the Mugunghwa had already been founded throughout the Korean Peninsula since the middle of the fourth century. Unlike the other countriesnational flowers the Mugunghwa is very useful for our living like as in the cases of being used as the material for pulp and the curing aid for gastroenteric trouble, and the garden flowers and the fences. It is largely divided into three parts of all white colored Bae Dal-Gye and Dan Sim-Gye which has the crimson color in the center of flower and A Sa Dal-Gye which has the line in the edge of petals. The stem of Mugunghwa is about 2m-4m long. Until now, we have constantly made an effort to renovate in the economic condition of our country to put us among the top ten exporting countries. However, the recent social atmosphere of mammonism, opportunism and over-consumption gives a great harm to the Korean`s diligency. These tendency makes us have a grave concern for the future of our country. The Ministry of Communications issues two kinds of stamp of Hwarang and Nimbora, in the context that the love for national flower and the reconsideration of it`s spirit are absolutely needed for us to seek the right way to overcome the snowballing trade deficit and the drastic increase of the National individualism.`
