`The Ministary of Communications will hold the PHILAKOREA 1994 World Stamp Exhibition from the 16th to the 25th of August, 1994, at the Pacific Hall of the Korea Exhibition Center in Seoul, in collaboration with the Philately Federation of Korea and under the sponsorship of the Federation Internationale de Philatelie (FIP), to commemorate the 110th anniversary of modern postal service and to promote philately Korea. This general wold stamp exhibition was decidesd upon by a unanimous vote during the 60th FIP Congress, held in Tokyo, in 1991. PHILAKOREA 1994 World Stamp Exhibition is especially signficant, since it will be held in 1994, which is ``Visit Korea Year``, and in Seoul, where the 21st UPU Congress will be held in 1994. In the Non-Competitive Classes, about 130 exhibits and 260 frames will be displayed, and in the Competitive Classes, appoximately 670 exhibits and 3,200 frames will be exhibits in 12 differerent categories such as Youth Philately, Traditional Philately, and Literature. Also, postal administrations from all over the world will set up 170 booths providing visitors to a chance purchase a wide variety of stamps. The Ministry of Communications is planning to issue a series of 4 kinds of postage stamps to commemorate the PHILAKOREA 1994 World Stamp Exhibition. This is the first of the series on the subject of ``The Composition of a Pigeon and Letters.```
