Detail
`Railway freight cars are introduced in the fourth edition of the train series. Freight cars fefer to cars that transport commodities escluding passengers and include gondola cars, box cars, tank cars and hopper cars.
Gondola cars have open tops and are used for transporting large-size freight or freight that is not influenced by weather conditons such as rain or snow (ferriferous rocks, pebbles and steel products.)
Box cars are enclosed, watertight boxes on wheels that are used to carry commodities contained in burlap bags such as cement or fertilizers as well as paper products. Box cars have sliding doors on both sides to provide easy access in loading and unloading the commodities.
Tank cars are used to transport cement or oil products and the cars themselves take the shape of cylinder tanks. Commodities are loaded through the opening situated at the top of the tank and unloaded through the outlet in the lower part of the tank.
Hopper cars are a type of open-top gondola cars. These cars are used exclusively for transporting anthracite coal. Hoppers are installed on both sides and commodities are unloaded through the hatch cover located at the sides.`
