Our history could change thanks to the blood, sweat, and tears of the countless patriots who sacrificed their bodies and souls for the independence of Korea during the Japanese colonial era. The place where you can meet the fierce history of our people who protected this country with their spirit of self-reliance and independence, the Independence Hall of Korea, celebrates their 30th anniversary of its opening this year. The Independence Hall of Korea that was built in Mokcheon-eup, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do on August 15, 1987 has been collecting, preserving, investigating, and researching data on the countrys success stories of national crisis and development history as it is cherished as a place where visitors can learn about Korean cultural identity through its exhibitions and education programs. Various historical learning sites where culture and nature blend in together are situated within the Independence Hall of Korea centered around seven exhibition halls where visitors can look back on the fierce historical sites (The Root of the Nation, The Ordeal of the Nation, The Protection of the Nation, The Roaring of the Nation, Regaining the Nation, Building a New Country, and Joining the Independence Movement). The Independence Hall also includes a 51m tall Monument to the Nation that expresses the soaring nation, Exhibition of the Remains of the Japanese Government General Building created with the remains of the Japanese government-general building that was demolished in 1995, Reunification Hill that was created to wish for the peaceful unification of the country, Patriots Memorial built to honor the noble spirit of the martyrs, Millennium Forest and White Lotus Pond. The Independence Hall provides various exhibitions, educational programs, and events to celebrate the 30th anniversary of its opening. The organization will publish The 30-Year History of the Independence Hall of Korea that keeps track of the accomplishments the organization achieved in the past as well as its footprints and will hold a special exhibition, Students, at the Center of History, to introduce martyrs who experienced the Japanese colonial era and actively participated in the independence movement as students. A photo contest, Going back to the memories of 30 years ago! to exhibit pictures of the present and past, an outdoor photo exhibition, The 30 years of the Independence Hall of Korea created with the Korean people, ‘The 30th Exhibition Report Contest of the Independence Hall for teenagers, 2017 A Visit to Independence Movement Historic Sites for university students, and a user created content contestCreate a PR Video in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the Independence Hall! will be held to look back on the meaning of the past 30 years of the Independence Hall.   Korea Post will issue a commemorative stamp of with a panoramic view of the Independence Hall with The Grand Hall of the Nation in the center along with The Statue of Indomitable Koreans that expresses the strong will of the Korean people. The issuance of the new stamps will provide us with an opportunity to realize the love of our ancestors for this country and how they were committed to protecting the independence of our country.
