Detail
`The hunger and poverty, despite the constant struggle of the mankind to free from them, have never ceased to exist ever since the dawn of the history. The hunger and poverty, aggravated due to the ever growing population, now challenge our human life in a way more serious than any other time in the past. In order to meet the urgent problem of food shortage, the world now resorts to the worldwide mobilization of human knowledge and effort for production and supply of sufficient food, especially to keep up with the explosively growing pupulation. The Food and Agriculture Organization of UN, in order to meet the situation, adopted at its 10th session (1959) the resolution to initiate Freedom from Hunger Campaign during the period 1960 to 1965 and determined to devote collective human effort for realization of the objectives set out in FAO`s charter. The zenith of the campaign falls under the year 1963 and most countries of the world decided to establish ``The Freedom from Hunger Week`` beginning on or about 21 March this year for the purpose of inviting the individual or group participation in and active contribution for the success of the campaign, by concentrating world attention and effort to the basic objective of the campaign which aims to free the mankind from the hunger and poverty. For this purpose, about 90 countries of the world will issue the postage stamp for the campaign and Korea will also issue a commemorate postage stamp for the Freedom from Hunger Campaign on the forthcoming equinoctial day, March 21, 1963.`
