`American President Lyndon B. Johnson and a leader of the free world, with whose country we maintain particularly close relations, will make a three-day state visit to Korea starting on October 31, at the invitation of President Chung Hee Park. The Republic of Korea and the United States of America, both of which are to attend the Manila conference, have a wide range of mutual cooperation and consultation in the common effort of the free countries to check the Communists aggression, and President Johnson`s visit to Korea, particularly at a time when there is an urgent need for an extensive mutual understanding and close cooperation, is of great significance. Friendly relations between two countries often result from intimate friendship between their leaders, and friendship between the heads of state of our two countries is, no doubt, bound to promote good will between our two peoples. The whole nation will spare no effort to receive the President of our staunch ally most cordially and we are all of a mind in our desire to make our welcome of the President the most cordial and the most enthusiastic accorded him during his Asian tour. President Johnson`s visit to Korea will certainly serve to further strengthen ties that have traditionally existed between the two countries and will lead to profitable outcome of our mutual consultation on matters of common interest to both countries. The Ministry of Communications will issue a commemorative stamp, to join with the whole people in extending our heartfelt welcome to President Johnson during his stay in Korea and hoping that his stay will be enjoyable and comfortable.`
