Detail
`The 12th convention of the Asian People`s Anti-communist League will be held in Seoul from October 31 through November 7 this year.
Responding to the Korean Government call to form a panAsian Anticommunist organization that will align and rally the unsystematic Anticommunism movement in individual Asian countries to effectively meet the growing threat of international communist aggression, the Nationalist China, Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Hongkong, Ryukyu met first in Jinhae, Korea and established the Asian People`s Anticommunist organization in June, 1954.
The League, established with this purpose, has kept growing, increasingly enlisting support from more countries over the world and today it has developed into a worldwide Anticommunist movement with 26 member nations, 23 observers, and 16 associated Anticommunist groups under its affiliation.
The Republic of Korea, that has been playing a leading role in the League as its founding country and an executive country, has contributed greatly to the international Anticommunism movement and successfully advanced our position as Anticommunist country in the world.
The 12th convention will deal, as its major programs, with such subjects as; enlargement and reorganization of the League into a global organization that will give orientation to the Anticommunism movement in the world; steppedup Anticommunist diplomatic campaigns to the nonaligned countries; and activities of peopletopeople diplomacy to promote the good will and strengthen the common ties among the free world countries.
Asian peoples, in pursuit of peace and freedom, will never allow belligerent international communists to succeed in their programs for aggression, and it is expected they will renew their determination to fight for the security of longlasting world peace through the convention.
The Ministry of Communications will issue a commemorative in honor of the Anti-communist meeting.`
