Detail
`The 50th national athletic meet will be held in Seoul for six days beginning October 28. With a total of 15,000 staff officers and athletes from all parts of the nation participating, each provincial athletic delegates will compete with their physical strength and skills in the sports festival which includes 26 sports entries.
The national athletic meet started in 1920 as a national baseball match and this had developed later into a comprehensive annual national sports event in 1929. Although this had to be discontinued following its eighteenth meeting because of the ban by the then Japanese rulers and remained suspended until 1945, when the Japanese rule was brought to an end and the nation was able to resume it, the national athletic meet has made steady progress both in its scale and standard.`
