Detail
`The Asian Labor Ministers` Conference is to be held in our country for four days starting on September 27, 1971.
The Asian Labor Ministers` Conference, which is to be attended by labor ministers of various countries in Asia, is aimed at encouraging and promoting mutual cooperation among the nations in this region of the world in the field of labor. The international conference on labor was held in the Philippines in 1966, and next in India in 1969. The Republic of Korea took part in both conferences.
To participate in the forthcoming conference are 16 countries, including Korea. They are the Republic of Korea, Australia, the Republic of China, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Khmer, Malaysia, Maldive Islands, New Zealand, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and the Republic of Vietnam. Vivid and heated discussions and exchanges of opinions will take place at the upcoming conference on the following two matters :
1) Economic development and the role of labor unions in the Asian region in the 1970`s
2) Equalization, or standardization, of techniques for increased manpower exchanges in Asia.
In the hope that the forthcoming Labor Ministers` Conference in Asia will turn out to be a great success in our common endeavors for improvement of labor conditions and the relations between the labor and capital of the participant countries, the Ministry of Communications is to issue a commemorative postage stamp to make the significant occasion well known both at home and abroad.`
