February 25, 2013 is a momentous day when Park Geun-hye, the 18th president of Korea, will be inaugurated into office. The new government to be led by President Park Geun-hye, the first female president of Korea, is being launched to usher in a new era of hope where national integration is achieved, with the top priority of the state affairs placed on ensuring the stability of the people’s lives. In celebration of the inauguration of the new president, Korea Post issues a commemorative stamp, reflecting the expectations and aspirations of the Korean people that the president will do everything in her power to realize the promises made to the people and that a Korea where all its people are happy can be made into reality. The commemorative stamp expresses, in a simple and elegant way, the mild and dignified appearance of “Korea’s first female president who will usher in a new era of hope,”along with the Taegeukgi, the national flag of Korea. The souvenir sheet contains the image of Korea’s first female president against the backdrop of Gwanghwamun in a warm and soft color. Contained, together with a souvenir sheet and a sheet, in the commemorative stamp pack, “My Own Stamp”expresses the path taken by President Park Geun-hye who has always stood for the people, by employing various images such as the president’s childhood, and her days as acting first lady, assembly woman and presidential candidate. In addition, the unadorned First Day Cover expresses, using the embossing technique, the new government’s resolve toward the Korean people.
