Detail
The last installment in the Extreme sports series, BMX, is introduced. BMX (Bicycle Motocross) is a sport where the rider on a bicycle with wheels of 20 inch diameter performs splendid stunts on an obstacle course or engages in a thrilling race. It is said that the origin of BMX goes back to the 1970s when a boy, inspired by a motorcycle chase scene in a movie, revamped his bicycle and started scampering on a non-paved road. In BMX free style, a style of BMX, the rider and the bicycle become one to carry out awesome feats: in the air, the rider takes his hands off the bicycle handle, makes spins, or spins the handle, making the audience feel giddy. As a significantly dangerous sport compared to other extreme sports, BMX provides a great deal of thrills, enjoying high popularity among youngsters. BMX encompasses many different types of action. It is divided into two main types: racing and free style. Free style is again classified into vert, park, flatland and dirt jump. BMX is garnering even more attention as BMX racing, where riders compete on tracks made of soil, was selected as an official Olympic event at the 2008 Beijing Olympic. The new stamp features such BMX skills as X-up, No Hand Jump, One Foot Can Can, Superman Seat Grab, etc.
