Detail
On October 2nd, 2007, the heads of state of the two Koreas will meet each other in an historic inter-Korean summit in Pyongyang. The second of its kind, this summit is being held 7 years after the two heads of the Koreas grasped each other’s hands in 2000 at Sunan Airport in North Korea. The two Koreas have great hopes that this round of the inter-Korean summit will enhance the momentum to ushering in a new era of peace on the Korean peninsula, common prosperity of the Korean people, unification of our fatherland, by taking, based on the “June 15th South-North Joint Declaration,” the inter-Korean relationship to the next step. The new stamp issued in commemoration of the inter-Korean summit displays a dove flying over the Korean peninsula expressing the wish for peace and prosperity for all Koreans. The stamp also symbolizes that the unity of the two Koreas will ride the 5-color streams toward the sky to bring peace for all mankind. It is wished that through this round of Inter-Korean summit, the hopes of 70-million Koreans would be realized.
