Detail
`The 2002 Korea Philately Exhibition will be held in Hall 1 of the Pacific Hall at the COEX Exhibition Center for six days from August 1 to August 6, 2003.
The Korea Philately Exhibition, held every year since 1954, has become a venue for providing youths the opportunities to experience and learn about philatelic culture during their summer vacation. This year`s exhibition will feature not only postage stamps originating from the Republic of Korea but also those from North Korea. Over 500 frames of philatelic works will be on display. Also, beginning from this year, one-frame exhibits will be introduced, offering the general public easier access to stamp culture. Diverse programs targeted at children are planned including puppet shows, magic shows, exhibition of stamp mosaic works, lectures on stamp-related culture and making cyber postage stamp works. Other programs will include autograph sessions with stamp designers and philately trivia contests. The Folk Cultural Hall offers exhibitions of unique art and artcraft of various regions, while the Postage Stamp and Currency Exhibition Hall offers a glimpse of the full spectrum of procedures of stamp production. Other programs include the My Own Stamp corner enabling the visitor to make a stamp featuring his/her own face.
The special stamp of this year`s Philately Week Special features, in paper folding work, a girl offering a deep bow, to convey the `expression of gratitude`.`
