`According to the change of domestic postal rates on September 1, 1997, the Ministry of Information and Communication is issuing four new definitive postage stamps. The first is for 140 won for ordinary postcards, another is for 260won, the basic rate for pieces of nonstandard ordinary mail weighing liss than 50g, another ids for 1,170 won, the basic rate for registered ordinary mail weighing liss than 25g, and the last is for 1,190 won, the basic rate for registered ordinary mail weighing less than 50g. The 140-won definitive stamp for postcards retains the existingNarcissus design is use since it was first issued on August 20, 1994. Only the denomination and the background color are changed. Standard envelopes are 140 to 235mm in width, 90 to 120mm in length, and a maximum 5mm in thickness. They should be white of light color, and their weight should be within the range of 3.27g to 50.0g. The 260 won definitive stamp for nonstandard ordinary mail weighing less 50g retains theLittle Terndesign which graced the existing 180 won and 210 won definitive stamps, with changes only to the denomination and the background color. The definitive stamp for 1,170 won, the basic rate for registered ordinary mail weighing less than 25g, features theBronze Incense Burner in the Shape of Lotus Flowers , and incense burner with a handle made during the Koryo dynasty(1077 A.D). The definitive stamp for 1,190 won, the basic rate for registered ordinary mail weighing less than 50g, retains the existing design of theCeladon Pomegranate-shaped Wine Pot with Flowers Painted in Whitewhich graced the 930 won and 1,050 won definitive stamps for registered ordinary mail. Only the denomination and the background color are changed.
