`International cooperation for the sound life and the promotion of living standard of humankind and the elimination of hunger from human society achieved the birth of the FAO(Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) in October 16, 1945. The agreement for the promotion of human health was connected to the extablishmentof the WHO(World Health Organization of the United Nations) in April 7, 1948. In the mean time, we, Korean who became a member of both organizations in 1949, are endeavoring for the national health by improving of school feeding and popularzing of national gymnastics.
In spite of our great and incessant efforts for solving of food and health problems, some counties are still suffering from the ill-havest and hunger which reasons are the abnormal atmospheric phenomena and the natural calamity. Recently, the present conditions like the decease of harvest and the malnutrition which are being provoked by the destruction of ozone layer and the green-house effect of global and the civil war makes us very sorrowful, who were experienced the farm hardship period but only 30 years ago.
The International conference on Nutrition of 7 days from December 5 to 11, 1992 in Rome of Italy to renovate the present nutrition problem will be very meaningful for us to need desperately the international cooperation to promote the health standard of humankind and will be the basement to light the healthy future of us.
