Detail
`From November 16 to 22 is philatelic Week. In celebration of this occasion, the Ministry of Communications has planned various events designed to promote the healthy hobby of stamp collecting.
The events scheduled for the Week includes a national postage stamp exhibition at the Saejong Cultural Hall, Seoul, which will display those works of philatelic art that won prizes at the preliminary regional contests held last month, philatelic lectures for youths, and a day for reunion of stamp collectors all over the country.
The postage stamp is not only a means of paying postage charges, but also an intensive publicity means that carries valuable information about the history, culture, art, economy, society, etc. of an individual country. Artists, in particular, take a great interest in it, and the number of philatelists is increasing throughout the world.
The Ministry of Communications issues this postage stamp in order to celebrate philatelic Week and promote a correct understanding of philately, which will lead more people to come to love this healthy cultural hobby of stamp collecting.`
