`Hoping to promote the agricultural productivity which has been the top issue in our society from old them, the International Fertilizer & industry Association headquartered in Paris, France was founded in England, 1927 on the purpose of production and marketing of fertilize, and collecting and providingall of information about agricultural management in the midst of rising the importance of fertilizer. In its 60th Annual conference to be held in Seoul, the stress will be put on the following subjects like the encouragement of scientific study for the promotion on the production and usage of fertilizer, and the technical cooperation of each companies producing the fertilizer and its basic materials.
In the mean time, we can find many records of fertilizer through the history of our country, a traditional agricultural one, such as the ways of making fertilizer in ``Forestry Economics`` written by Hong Man-sun in the reign of Suk-Jong, Cho-Sun Dynasty and using the lime in the cool watered rice field to make seed`s germination easily I ``Hae-dong Agricultural Document`` written by Suh Ho-su of the reign of Jungo-Jo.
The modern agricultural history of producing fertilizer in Korea began with the production of Ammonium Sulfate in Pusan, 1910 and has reached to the stage of production amounted to 1.2 million tons annually, with the facility capable of producing 4 million tons, composed of Urea, Ammonium Sulfate, Phosphatic Fertilizer, Postassium Chloride, Compound Fertilizer yearly, in many factories like the Chung-ju ferilizer componyetc.
