`The following are fifth of the special postage stamps that feature fishes living in or near the Korean Peninsula. The fourth of the series were issued in 1989. 1. Hapalogenys mucronatus. Distributed in the coastal waters of central and southern Korea, and also of southern Japan and China, this temperate-zone fish has a body which is spread sideways in the form of an elongated ellipse, with a distinctive mark of five deep-black belts running horizontally. 2. Fugu niphobles A puffer found in the coastal waters of southeastern Korea, more particularly near Wonsan, Pusan and Chejudo, and also of central and southern Japan, this fish spawns eggs between rocks, May to June, and frequently swims up rivers although it does not stay long in fresh water. 3. Oncorhynchus masou var ishi kawai This fish inhabits the mouths of the rivers and streams of Korea flowing into the East Sea. The fish is also widely distributed in the seas of Kamchatka, the Kuril islands, Alaska and the western part of North America. 4. Rhodeus ocellatus The Korean habitats of this fish are the rivers in central and southern Korea, the fish is also found in the rivers in central and southern China, Taiwan, and central and western Japan. It spawns around 34 eggs at a time, May to June, and is often found among fishes of other species. `
