`The 44th International Eucharistic Congress is held in Seoul, Korea, form October 4 to 8, 1989, attended by peace-loving Catholics from all over the world.
The International Eucharistic Congress is a religious meeting of the Catholic Church which is held every four years for its believers of the world to assemble at one place and give thanks to and adore the Eucharist. The Congress is also a great festival held ro promote peace and accordance with all the people of the world.
``The Peace of Jesus Christ`` is the theme of the Seoul Congress, which is expected to be attended by about thirty thousand people from all over the world including priests, monks, nuns, laymen and roporters.
The Ministry of Communications issues this postage stamp, praying that the Seoul Eucharistic Congress will help realize the peace of Jesus Christ and stimulate all of us to the spirit of loving the neighbor and especially of caring for the sufferer.`
