Detail
`The Ministry of Communications intends to make our music known more widely both at home and abroad by issuing postage stamps featuring it over the next few years. The more popular of our folk songs, children`s songs and classical songs will be selected and postage stamps will be designed in accordance with their themes, with the music showing on the stamps. The following two stamps are the second of the series:
1. Half Moon(6.8.Eb Major)
This is a children`s song writted and composed by Yun Keuk-Young. Made in 1924, it was then not so much a simple juvenile song as a national song that served of their statehood. Still loved by all the Koreans, young and old, this song is dearly cherished, along with The Spring Of My Home, as a fine piece of art that contains the soul of our nation.
2. Let`s Go And Pick The Moon(2/4 Eb Major)
This song, written by Yun Seok-Jung and composed by Park Tae-Hyun, is a nursery rhyme made to culivate little children`s imagination and curiosity, with its beautiful words versifying a children`s world of mystery and yearning and the light rhythm of its music suitably matching the verse.`
