Detail
`The Han River Development Works were born of the People`s desire and the government`s determination to make the Han River a symbol of ``the nation`s great leap forward.``
The works are also a way of our recompensing it for the vital service it has rendered us for so long a time.
The works, which include among other things a readjustment of the waterway and the elevated areas along it and the construction of a sewer system and a reverside freeway, have been completed four years after the groundbreaking in September 1982.
The Ministry of communications issues this postage stamps in commemoration of the successful completion of the great national engineering works, which will no doubt serve as a symbol of our national prosperity and progress.`
