Detail
`The Korean Symposium on Science and Technology 1983 is held for five days July 4-8 in Seoul. The symposium, which is held for the tenth time this year, started in 1974 under the title ``The First Integrated Symposia of Korea Scientists and Engineers at Home and Abroad.`` It has since been held every year, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Technology, under the co-sponsorship of the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies and either the Korean Scientists and Engineers Association in America or the Korean Scientists and Engineers in Europe. The symposium aims at creating and maintaining close ties between the scientists and engineers at home and those abroad through the presentation of their research papers and the exchange of information on their professional fields. In this way, it also seeks to help make Korea advanced scientifically and technologically. The symposium, in which so many experts in science and engineering, from home and abroad, work together on particular study subjects of the country, is greatly contributing to enhancing the domestic level of science and engineering and is thus helping to bring about innovation of industrial technology. The Ministry of Communications issues this stamp in commemoration of the Korean Symposium on Science and Technology 1983, hoping that the symposium will become an opportunity for the Korean scientists and engineers from abroad to form the correct view of their fartherland and participate with enthusiasm in developing Korean technology and industry.`
