`Having lived a very eventful year, we are now on the threshold of another New Year full of hope, that is, the year of Kimi (sheep).
Around this time every year, everyone of us gets busy, preparing and planning for the New Year, at the same time reflecting on the various events and affairs that have taken place in the year just passing by.
Greeting are sent to friends and realtives living far away and to those work hard in foreign lands thousands of miles away from home, wishing them a good luck and a happy new year. Tribute is paid to one`s ancestors and the deceased.
Indeed, exchanging greetings and good will at an yearend aming those sho have not been able to meet and communicate with one another as frequwntly as desired, thus father cementing anew amicable relationship and longlasting frindship, is a beautiful custom traditionally abided by the people of Korea.
The Ministry of Communications is issuing two kinds of postage stamp on the occasion of greeting the New Year, in the hope that all the people get united all the more firmly in the building of a peaceful and prosperous society, at the same time wishing them the best of luck and happiness.`
