`The 9th President of the Republic of Korea is to be inaugurated on December 27, 1978. Incumbent President Park Chung Hee, who is to assume the Office of the President on this meaningful day following his reelection by the National Conference for Unification by an overwhelming support on July 6, has achieved brilliant growth and development in all aspects of our national life, including the political, economic, social and cultural fields, while in office as the 8th President. With the modernization of fatherland and national regeneration as the guiding principle in governing the state and its people, President Park indeed has accomplished remarkable economic development as eloquently symbolized by the attainment of the $10­billion target amount in export and per capita income topping $1,000. The Chief Executive has laid a firm foundation of which the people are to exert themselves for joining the world community of advanced nations. Winning a worldwide accalim, by means of strengthening self­defense capabilities, cultivating and promoting national spirit and culture. Indeed, President Park has established a great redord of marching forward through the successful attainment of drastic expansion and growth of our national power. President Park is futher expected , as the 9th President of the country, to guide the people even more vigorously with a far­sighted blueprint for a new era of the long­awaited 1980`s and with a glorious vision of an ``Advancing Korea``. The Ministry of Communications is issuing this commemorative postage stamp, extending hearty congratulations on this historic occasion of inaugurating the9th President of the Republic of Korea and getting resolved anew together with all the people to support President Park wholeheartedly for the creation of a new and glorious history under his great leadership.`
