`March 10 this year is the 16th anniversary of the designation of Labor Day as a paid holiday for the 7 million workingmen of the nation.
These workers have successfully overcome numerous difficulties and hardships through hard work and unfaltering vigor and courage, countributing a great deal to the implementation of the consecutive Economic Development Plans which have laid a firm foundation for the nation`s modernization and the building of a stable, affluent society.
Now they are exerting themselves with might and main for the attainment of various goals envisaged in the Fourth FiveYear Economic Development Plan.
In order to realize the longcherished hope of national reunification and to further beef up the nation`s strength, at the same time trying to maintain harmonious relations between the labor and management, the workrs of our republic are making incessant efforts the establishment of industrial peace and welfare society.
On this occasion of marking the 16th Labor Day, the Ministry of Communications issues this commemorative postage stamp, paying a high tribute to, and encouraging, these hardworking and patriotic people full of vigor and energy, along with the entire people of our country.`
