Detail
`Korean Air lines marked the 10th Anniversary of its founding on march, 1 1979. As the only civilian air carrier of Korean nationality, Korean Air Lines has achieved an astounding growth in the past 10 years. When Korean air lines took over the country s civil aviation from the then governmentrun Korean National airlines 10 years ago, its fleet consisted of one jet aircraft and seven propellerdriven planes serving domestic rotues mostly. Now, Korean Air Lines boasts a fleet of 35 modern luxurious planes including the latest B747s, serving 22 majors cities of 15 countries in east Asia, Europe, Middle east and North America. Especially noteworthy was the inauguration on March 29,1979, of the Seoul?New York route, which brought the Korean air lines a step closer to the longcherished goal of panglobal service. ``The Wings of Korea`` now fly to almost all corners of the World proudly bearing the unmistakable mark of Taeguk. On the occasion of the 10th Anniversary of the founding of Korean Air Lines and the inauguration of Seoul ? New York route, the Ministry of Communications issues this commemorative Stamp in the hope that it will help promote a greater role of the country`s civil aviation in peopletopeople diplomacy around the World.`
