Detail
`All across the U.S. this year, American citizens, civic organizations as well as government, will celebrate their country`s 200th anniversary. The Bicentennial, a commemoration of America`s colorful past, is also regarded as an occasion for Americans to rededicate themselves to past ideals and to plan for the future.
Looking at America`s past, one cannot help but admire its political system, a structure separating the power of government and a constitution guaranteeing the foundamental rights and freedoms of its citizens.
The system has undergone tests and stresses in the past 200 years but has proven it is workable and capable of handling complex issues without sacrificing principles.
Probably the system and the from will change with time, but the basic tenets will survive: equality, justice, the right to pursue one`s talentsthose continuing and lasting promises of the American dream.
The Ministry of Communications joins America in celebrating its bicentennial by issuing five kinds of commemorative stamps and prays endless progress of our friendly nation.`
