`The 1st of May 1976 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Korea Military Academy(KMA). On the 1st of May 1946, KMA was first founded in the northeastern suburb of Seoul, under the name of Korea National Defense Constabulary Officers School (the predecessor of which was Military English School). During the past thirty years, KMA, the cradle of Korea Army which produces the core of our military leaders, has played a key role in the defending of the Republic against the military invasion and the provocative acts by the north Korean Communist puppet regime as well as in the developing of Korea Army to its present status as one of the mightiest forces in the modernization of our fatherland. Meanwhile, KMA has made a great progress in many respects together with the brilliant growth of our national power. ``Grow truthfully , learn to win and glorify the nation`` is the condensed expression of KMA`s aims of education, which are as follows: 1) to guide the cadet in the forming of their salient view of country : 2) to give to the cadet a highly advanced professional knowledge along with a broad liberal education3) to furnish the cadet with combat skills and leadership and 4) to instill into the cadet the soldier`s essentials such as undaunted will­power and robust physique. For these aims KMA carries out a 4­year program of college education with the aid of various modern edcational facilities. Now that we are under the ever continuous threat from the north Communists, as commonly known to the world, what is the most crucial for our existence and prosperity in the future is our unmoved defending posture and all the people look forward to the glorious advancement of KMA as well as to its boundless contribution to the fatherland. In order to make the importance of KMA known more widely among the people, at the same time hoping that we hereby throughly strengthen our national defense on the basis of solid cooperation between the people and the army the Ministry of Communications is issuing this commemorative postage stamp.`
