Detail
`The year 1976 is coming close to the end, and we are on the threshold of the New Year of 1977, Jongsa, the year of snake according to the Oriental zodiac.
Around this time of year, we are getting busy meditating over the year that is about to pass by, while at the same time we are filled with joy and new hopes as we prepare to greet the New Year which is dawning by and by.
As the New Year draws nearer, we see beautiful scenes and customs in which people strengthen their mutual ties of friendship or kinship by exchanging greetings with friends and relatives who live far away or nearby.
When letters of New Year`s greetings are exchanged among friends and relatives living far away from each other, both the senders and recipients are overwhelmed with a sense of joy and happiness to meet the incoming New Year.
In the hope that all those who send and receive joyous greetings for the New Year will become all the more happy and pleasant, the Ministry of Communications is issuing two kinds of postage stamps for New Year`s greetings, wishing all the people a happy and succesful New Year.`
