`The 21st of April is the 10th anniversary of the desingnation of Science Day. The Government of the Repubic of Korea designated the date of the founding of the Ministry of Science and Technology(MOST) as Science Day and Sponsors on this day various porgrams aimed at encouraging the application of science to the everyday life of the general public. We live lin what may be called the era of science, characterized by constant progress and advancement of scientific techniques and skills. In order to achieve affluence and to join the rank of advanced countries, everyone of us must try to put science into practical use in our daily life. We must introduce ne knowledge from ever­seas and apply it in our daily life by making it our own. We should at the same time endeavor to develop our industries and raise our standard of living by means of stepping up international scientific and technological cooperation with other countries. The Ministry of Communications is issuing this commemorative postage stamp on this accasion of observing the 10th Science Day with a view to having the importnat mission of science more widely knon among the people of our country and the peoples of our friendly nations as well.`
