Detail
`The Ministry of Communications is issuing these two stamps as the fourth part of a series depicting Korea`s traditional musical instruments.
So
This instrument, which resembles pan pipes, has 16 pipes. It is now used only during a ritual ceremony at the Confucian Temple.
The chromatic scales run upwards from right to left. The bottom of each pipe is filled with wax to adjust the pitch.
HaiKeum
A two-stringed fiddle which has no fingerboard, this instrument is played by running the hairs of the bow between the two strings.
It is a major component of the traditional orchestra. It also plays an essential part in chamber and dance music.
Haikeum is one of the only two traditional Korean musical instruments which are played with a bow. The other is Achaing, which has seven strings.`
