`On April 12, 1975, the nation is to observe the 7th anniversary of the activation of the Homeland Reserve Forces. In the face of the frequent acts of provocation staged by the north Korean Communist regime, the 2,700,000 man Homeland Reserve Forces(HRF) was founded for the purpose of propping the nation`s regular armed forces and for further strengthening the defence of the rear area. Having designated this year as ``the year for strengthening the defense capabilities of the HRF``, members of the HRF are undergoing intensive training to get prepared for meeting any evevtuality promptly in their respective communities. Since its founding on April 1, 1968, the HRF has been instrumental in the building of a pan­national defense posture under the moto, ``Let`s fight the enemy, while working.`` All members of the HRF have avtively participated in the implementation of the October Revitalizing Reforms, at the same time sprearheading the Saemaul(New Community) Movement vigorously. In order to publicize widely the self­sacrificing effort of the HRF for the prosperity and safety of our homeland, the Ministry of Communication is issuing a commemorative postage stamp.`
