Detail
`The 56th National Athletic Meet is to be held in Taegu, Kyongsangpukto, for six days beginning October 7, 1975.
During the period of the meet in which officials as well as athletes representing Seoul, Pusan, nine provinces and the Korean residents in Japan and the United States of America are to take part, the athletes will compete in a genuine show of youthful strength and athletic prowess to bring honor to their respective cities and provinces. They will vie in a total of 26 track and field events, grouped into three divisions high school, college and general public.
The athletic meet is a great national sport festival aimed at promoting a sense of unity and perseverance and upholding sportsmanship among the people, at the same time upleveling their physical capabilities, thereby contributing eventually to the development and purification of our national culture.
The Ministry of Communication is issuing two kinds of postage stamps in celebration of this occasion in the hope that the athletic meet will succeed, as in the past, in promoting physical training and exercises among the people and in displaying the strength and wisdom of our people.`
