Detail
`March 10, 1973 marks the 10th Laborers Day. The government, in a decree issued on April 15, 1963, proclaimed March 10 as a paid holiday for the nation`s 4,000,000 workmen.
Through hard work and unusual vigor, these workmen overcame numerous difficulties and contributed immensely in their respective field of industry to the successful implementation of the First and Second Five-Year Economic Development Plans which laid foundation for national modernization and construction of a stable, affluent society based on self-sufficient economy.
With equal diligence and vitality, they are now doing their utmost to attain the goals of the Third Five-Year Plan which was launched last year.
Eager to improve their own ability and capability in order to help build up national strength and achieve the long-cherished national aspiration for nation`s concerted effort to carry out the revitalizing reforms which are aimed at bringing about stability and prosperity.
Joining the people in honoring and encouraging these patriotic and energetic workmen who have made such remarkable contribution to the development of national economy and hoping that they will continue to exert their strenuous, united effort to help accomplish the revitalizing reforms, the Ministry of Communications is issuing this commemorative stamp.`
