Detail
`The nation observes the Homeland Reserve Forces Day on April 6, 1974. The HRF was activated on April 1, 1968.
The 2,500,000 members of the HRF, while working in their respective towns and villages, stand ready for prompt mobilization to meet any eventually. In view of the emergency situation which this country confronts, the HRF aims at substantially increasing its combat capability this year as part of the nation`s effort to strengthen its self-reliant defense posture and buttress the defense of the rear area.
The HRF members are also playing a key role in community development and national economic construction with burning zeal and unsparing energy. They are spearheading Saemaul(New Village) Movement which is being carried out throughout the country with emphasis on diligence, self-help and cooperation. At the same time, they are actively participating in the implementation of the Revitalizing Reforms.
Praising the HRF members for their devoted service being rendered for the security and prosperity of the homeland and hoping that the nation better appreciate the HRF`s vital role in the national development and defense, the Ministry of Communications is issuing this commemorative postage stamp.`
