Detail
`The 2nd Conference of the Confederation of Asian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) will be held in Seoul for three days from 6th to 8th March 1968. CACCI, now comprising 12 member countries, was founded in May 1966 for the purpose of promoting trade and economic cooperation among the Asian countries and is engaged in a wide range of activities in the interest of economic development and upholding the status of businessmen in the region through the ever closer economic cooperation among the businessmen in Asia. In the forthcoming 2nd Conference to be held in Seoul, over 400 delegates from 12 member countries will meet to discuss and exchange opinions on such subjects as ``Study of the possibilities of establishment of new regional economic organization, Promotion of trade liberalization, Industrial development by mutual cooperation, Technical improvement and agricultural growth`` under the theme of ``Regional Cooperation for Asian Economic Growth.`` The forthcoming Conference to be held in Seoul is of significance in that it will not only serve to give a firm basis to the people-to-people diplomacy among the Asian countries but it will also afford an opportunity of showing to our Asian friends the remarkable progress we made during the nation`s first Five Year Economic Development Plan along with our determination and the prospects for the 2nd Five Year Plan which is now under way. The Ministry of Communications joins with the people of Korea in wholeheartedly welcoming such an important Conference to be held in Seoul and will issue a commemorative postage stamp honouring the occasion. We all wish the success of the Conference and that it will contribute to a greater economic prosperity for our country and all other friendly Asian countries.`
