`To commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the Republic of Korea`s membership in the International Civil Aviation Organization, 4 won postage stamps will be issued on 11 Dec. 1962. The purpose of ICAO is to secure safety and progress in a equiliblium of world wide aviation activity based on the principle of sharing equal opportunity as well as promote economical and sound operation of the business. ICAO was born at the International Civil Aviation Conference, held in Cicago USA at Nov. 1, 1944, represented by 52 nations. ICAO was formally founded on April 4, 1947 as one of the UN organizations.`
