Detail
`One year has elapsed since freedom fighters of Korean combat troops were dispatched to Vietnam as defenders of free world to save the people of Vietnam, our friendly ally, from becoming a victim of nefarious communist agression.
Being aware of their lofty mission, our combat units have been fighting bravely and heroically without a moment`s rest under the scorching sun in a foreign land. They have recorded great successes in war and have gained the respect, trust and love of the peace-loving Vietnamese as true friends by gallant, friendly and sincere approach to the people. By doing so, they have not only proved the bravery and excellence of Korean youth, but also greatly enhanced our national pride and prestige over the world.
We, both Government and the people, are required to join the efforts of ``Supporting Committee for Korean Soldiers in Vietnam`` in extending every possible helping bands, both material and spiritual, to Korean soldiers fighting there for the unselfish cause of freedom and world peace, and as well to their dependents left behind home.
As international communists, led by communist China, are threatening the security of the Southeast Asia while North Korea is watching for an opportunity to reinvest into the South, we at home should be equipped with the same combat readiness as that of our brave soldiers in the battle field sharing their mind and determination.
To mark the first anniversary of Korean military commitments in Vietnam, the Ministry of Communications will issue a commemorative stamp on October 1, the Armed Forces Day, to urge the nation for more support to the soldiers and to pray for their long-lasting success in war.`
